What’s your favorite t-shirt, and why is it your favorite? These are not easy questions to answer when you really start to think about them. We went around the shop and asked the crew to answer them for us. What we found was an interesting range of responses from everyone. For some, their favorite screen printed t-shirt had sentimental value based on nostalgia, and for others, it was simply because it was a clean wardrobe choice.

I grew up on Pink Floyd, and the t-shirt is from Roger Waters’ The Wall tour. It’s a classic band tee to pair with the most raggedy jeans and still looks badass. I like what the album represents, especially now. I see a parallel in the time it was written in and now.

Pictured on this shirt is the Reno skyline at night. There are some Californians coming over the mountain to surf the housing market waves and also the Chevrolet constellation which is all but invisible now due to light pollution. One time I won $1,000 on a penny slot at Baldini’s while wearing this shirt. It hasn’t brought any good fortune since, but neither have my other shirts, so this is currently my official lucky t-shirt. NFS.

The use of the gold ink with the artwork of a wild, badass witch controlling and bending the will of man is just so cool. Also, Inter Arma rules.

I like white shirts. It’s a blank canvas. It’s good for the summer. It’s made of good material and it washes well. I like the subtle decoration. It’s in a weird spot that you don’t see every day. It’s unique, one of a kind.

This shirt shows the album artwork for Person Pitch by Panda Bear. It’s a well-loved and worn shirt, partly because of the image on the shirt and partly because of what the album means to me. I think t-shirts have a way of encapsulating memories and special moments of the time you got it, where it came from, or new experiences each time it’s worn. That’s what makes this shirt special to me.

On the last week I lived in Michigan, my sister and I went to see Rainbow Kitten Surprise in concert. It was an amazing show, but it was also the last time I was going to be able to spend time with her before moving across the country. It’s a bittersweet memory, but in a way this shirt represents all the great times we spent together growing up.

I was in Marrakech looking at shirts in the medinas because I liked the simple notched neck style the locals wore. Everything I found was too big on me and made with heavy fabric.
When I got back to my riad, I looked up “Moroccan cut T-shirt”, hoping to find a local seller, but instead, I ended up on the page of an Atlanta-based company – Alternative Apparel. Their Moroccan Organic Pima Cotton T-shirt was exactly what I was looking for. Light, breathable, and with just enough detailing to make it subtly unique. I bought a few in black and dyed a couple of white ones gray.

One of our clients had this made with us and it seemed fitting for me to have one. I’m in love with Princess, our shop dog. She makes my heart feel warm and when I’m having a tough day at work I go and hug Princess.

I’ve always had a fascination for graphic tees and that is why I collect them. To me, it’s wearable art. Wes Lang is one of my favorite artists, and before he blew up, he used to print his paintings on tees in small runs. I got lucky and was able to buy this one at retail. This shirt is pretty rare. 😎

Well, on a surface level, the shirt is super soft and for some reason, it never shrunk in the dryer. Other than that, Basquiat is a super huge influence on me; just his imagination alone gets me in a creative mood. Also, everyone always thinks it’s me on there anyways, lol.

I had a classmate in community college who had very wealthy parents, so he wore all sorts of top-shelf name brand designer stuff. He also had Asperger’s syndrome and loved being the class clown because of it. So one day in our Intro to Screenprinting class he took off his Dope Couture t-shirt and printed these arbitrary messy red patterns all over it and gave it to me. He was certainly the most memorable person from those years, and the shirt almost looks like it was made like that on purpose so it’s a keeper.

This shirt was my grandpa’s. He was a middle school science teacher and would wear it to freak out his students. It’s held up after all these years and speaks to his and my sense of humor.

I found this shirt in the back of my friend’s truck seven years ago. I had to wash it like six times for it to be wearable. Every time I wear this shirt I have a good day! Ceremony is sick! Go listen to them!
